Tourists, as well as Property Managers, are now locked down at home, like most people. Being stuck at home is surely weighing on people, and everyone is probably thinking about what to do when this pandemic is over. Why don´t you give them some ideas?
From the beginning of this crisis, it was clear that Property Managers would have to make an extra effort, work harder, and prepare for changes that next season will bring.
Many of the unknowns from the beginning of the crisis are now more clear. For example, the summer may still be salvaged in Europe. By mid-June, governments in Europe will probably allow families and citizens to travel, with some social restrictions, but they will be allowed to travel.
Most professionals in the sector agree that this year will be mainly “local” tourism, but better local than nothing. Property Managers, however, need to adapt prices and cancellation conditions to the new circumstances, as if they do not bring offers and a plan to the table, tourists will find alternatives.
It is time to break the ice and leave fear behind. I know this may not be the right moment in the US, especially with the actual circumstances, but it is time to prepare for next season, as well as for when people will be allowed to fly again.
There are not many options for Property Managers at the moment. You can be optimistic and move forward, create your new pricing and conditions according to the new circumstances, or you can wait and hope that travelers come knocking on your door.
